We’re a Tico, a Gringa, and our two “Tingo” kids—together building a little slice of magic in the jungle.
Chorro Ecolodge was born from our dream to create a place where people can slow down, laugh louder, and feel at home in nature. Tucked into the mountains of Esquipulas, just 25 minutes from Quepos, it’s a riverside glamping escape for anyone who craves something real, raw, and a little “off the beaten path.”
What started as our family project has turned into a sanctuary for connection—whether you’re here with your partner, your family, or your best friends. Think canvas tents under the stars, mornings with the sound of the river rushing nearby, afternoons cooling off beneath the waterfall, and nights swapping stories by the fire.
It’s not just a stay—it’s a chance to recharge, reconnect, and remember how good life feels when you let nature set the pace.
Nature Immersion
At Chorro Ecolodge, you’ll “glamp” jungle-style in our safari tents—cozy beds, soft lights, and all the comfort you need, tucked right into the wild.
Wake up to misty mountain views and the sound of the river flowing by. Spend your days spotting toucans and butterflies, wandering forest trails, stretching into yoga on the deck, or cooling off beneath the waterfall.
When the sun goes down, gather by the fire pit, sink into a hammock, or watch the stars spill across the sky. Here, nature isn’t just outside your door—it’s part of every moment.
.At Chorro Ecolodge, the wildlife is part of the family—and they don’t mind showing off. Each day brings a new parade of color and sound: toucans perched in the treetops calling out with their croaky voices, brilliant blue morpho butterflies drifting past like floating jewels, curious monkeys swinging through the branches to say hello, and scarlet macaws flying overhead in dazzling pairs, painting the sky with red, gold, and blue.
It’s the kind of wild beauty you can’t schedule, but you’ll never forget. Here, nature doesn’t just surround you—it shares the experience right alongside you.
Jungle Neighbors
Our Safari Tents
Chorro Ecolodge keeps it cozy with just four luxury safari-style tents—designed so you can feel at home while still feeling the wild all around you.
Two tents sleep up to four guests.
Two tents welcome up to six guests.
All feature electricity with plenty of outlets, ceiling fans, and those can’t-wait-to-crawl-into beds with soft linens.
Larger tents come with little extras—a mini fridge and coffee maker for those who like their comforts close at hand.
Each tent has its own private bathroom just steps away. Think hot-water, open-air (yet private) jungle showers, eco-friendly composting toilets, and biodegradable bath products that are kind to the earth.
Because we love nature—and we want to keep it thriving.
Nature’s Retreat
Chorro Ecolodge isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a space to gather, move, and reconnect. We’ve got a fully equipped common kitchen, an open-air teak yoga platform overlooking the jungle, a fire circle for starlit nights, and even a waterfall on site when you need the ultimate reset.
Everything here was created with love and respect for nature: the rocks in our trails were carried up from the river one by one, and the furniture was built from recycled pallets, giving old wood a new life.
We host private retreats of up to 20 participants—small enough to feel intimate, big enough for true community.
Oh, and one more thing: cell service is spotty and the internet is jungle internet (it works… slowly). Which is our way of saying—leave the emails behind and embrace the digital detox you’ve been craving. Your soul (and your Wi-Fi tired brain) will thank you.

At Chorro Ecolodge, you can bring your own groceries and whip up meals in our fully equipped kitchen—jungle chef style.
Or… for a truly authentic experience, take a short stroll up the hill to our wonderful neighbor, Doña Luz. She’ll welcome you like family and serve up unforgettable Costa Rican meals cooked over her traditional wood-burning stove.
From hearty breakfasts to flavorful lunches and cozy dinners, every bite is made with love, tradition, and a dash of pura vida.
