What happens when you mix a rainforest waterfall, a home-cooked Costa Rican lunch, wine, chocolate, and a few surprises? One pretty unforgettable day at our family-run Chorro Ecolodge. Your day begins with a leisurely walk through our rainforest property to the Naranjo River and waterfall, with time to slow down, explore, swim, or simply soak up the beauty of nature. From there, visit the home of Doña Luz, where you’ll make homemade tortillas and enjoy a traditional Costa Rican lunch prepared over a wood-burning stove.

Then it’s back to Chorro’s open-air rainforest rancho overlooking the river for a relaxed and interactive wine and chocolate experience. Carefully selected wines from Costa Rica and around the world are paired with exceptional Costa Rican craft chocolates. As glasses are poured and chocolates sampled, guests discover unexpected pairings, compare favorites, and learn how both wine and chocolate are shaped by fruit, fermentation, terroir, and craftsmanship.
