Joyride

Where Wellness, Waterfalls, Surfboards, and Sisterhood Collide.

April 12 - 17, 2026 & December 6-11, 2026

Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica

Life is a gift.

Joyride isn’t about five-star luxury. It’s about five-star moments—like high-fiving yourself for standing up on a surfboard, belly-laughing around a fire with cacao in hand, or realizing your tent in the jungle is comfier than your bed at home. Birds for alarm clocks, waterfalls for showers, hammocks for therapy.

Here, we let go of the to-do lists and perfection, and give our inner child room to run wild—splashing in rivers, playing in waves, and laughing until our cheeks hurt.

Each day begins with movement and breath—yoga or meditation on an open-air deck overlooking the river, surrounded by the sounds of the rainforest waking up. It’s equal parts grounding and magical.

This is where adventure meets ease, where women gather to reconnect, and where strangers somehow turn into sisters.

About Joyride Women’s Retreats

  • Daily yoga, meditation, or sunrise walks that don’t require a Fitbit—just you, your breath, and the sound of the jungle waking up.

  • You’ll stay at Chorro Ecolodge, where the river sings you to sleep and the waterfall is basically your backyard.

  • This isn’t about spa robes and cucumber water. It’s about finally exhaling, letting go, and actually feeling good in your own skin.

  • We keep it intimate—just 10 women—because real connection doesn’t happen in a crowd.

  • Your days? Surfing, rafting, and chasing waterfalls like TLC told you not to.

  • At night, we trade Netflix for bonfires under the stars, cacao that cracks your heart open, and dancing that wakes up your inner wild woman.

  • You’ll eat like queens—fresh, vibrant meals from our private chef, and the magic of a local woman cooking over her wood-burning stove (spoiler: it tastes like love).

  • This retreat is laughter, tears, and dance parties. It’s culture, sisterhood, and sacred connection. It’s the jungle teaching you Pura Vida—the art of joy, simplicity, and celebrating life.

  • Come as you are. Drop the armor. Be messy, vulnerable, powerful, and free. Leave with your soul on fire and new sisters who feel like family.

A Day in the Life at Joyride

7:00am – Wake up with the jungle. Choose your vibe: yoga on the teak deck, a quiet meditation, or a sunrise walk to get your blood flowing.

8:00am – Breakfast made with love—fresh tropical fruit, hot coffee, and local flavors to fuel the day.

9:00am – Head out for the day’s adventure: maybe surfing your first wave, hiking to a hidden waterfall, rafting rapids, or just relaxing at the beach.

12:00pm – Lunch to refuel—whether on the trail, the beach, or back at the ecolodge.

2:00pm – Return to Chorro Ecolodge (depending on the adventure). Hammock naps, river dips, or journaling time encouraged.

5:00pm – Sunset magic—either toes in the sand at the beach or watching the sky glow from the rancho with your new sisters.

6:30pm – Dinner—fresh, nourishing, and made to be shared.

7:30pm – Bonfire under the stars: stories, laughter, cacao, maybe even a little dancing.

Note: Schedule flows with the adventures of the day—flexible, like Costa Rican Pura Vida.

Meet Cara

Cara’s life has always been an adventure. Growing up between the US, Japan, and Switzerland, then living and volunteering in Ecuador and Costa Rica, she learned early that the world feels like home when you’re curious and open-hearted. During her two decades working with the world’s top active travel company, she put down roots in Costa Rica—where she met her husband, built a family, and now raises two spirited kids by the jungle and the sea.

Balancing family, career, and community is her daily dance (sometimes graceful, sometimes messy). She knows firsthand how much women give—and how badly we need spaces to exhale, laugh, and reconnect with ourselves. For Cara, holding space for that joy is second nature.

Luna Vida is her vision: to connect people with nature, adventure, and community so they can thrive. And Chorro Ecolodge? That’s her husband’s lifelong dream come true—a wild riverside sanctuary that the two of them have nurtured for over a decade. Together they’ve created a place where guests can unplug from the noise and plug back into what matters most: themselves and the natural world.

When she’s not guiding women through waterfall hikes or cacao circles, you’ll find Cara on her bike in the mountains, surfing local waves, or cooking up feasts that turn into impromptu dance parties.
